D.I.Y: Ombre Shorts

PRODUCTIVE DAY! :) Yeayy. These are Tumblr inspired Ombre Shorts

Pink & Purple :)

High-waist Shorts: Red, Orange & Yellow :)

YOU WILL NEED:

Destroyed/Distressed Shorts

Different Colors of Fabric Dye

Warm Water

Plastic Container

Studs

STEP 1

Choose your destroyed/distressed shorts that you want to Dye. 

STEP 2

Prepare the dye. I used Venus fabric Dye. The colors are beautiful and the product is cheap. You can’t go wrong! Use Plastic containers to where you will soak your shorts. Mix the Fabric Dye with Warm Water and stir it until the powder disappears :D

STEP 3

SOAKING TIME! Only the very bottom of the piece is actually submerged in the dye (use your own judgment here- if you want the dye to be very strong half way up the garment then place half of it in the bowl- but the dye will creep up and go higher than what is submerged).

STEP 4

Wait a while. No seriously, it takes a bit.

STEP 5 

Take the garment out of the dye and rinse in the sink until the water runs clear- make sure not to get any dye on the top part of the garment.

STEP 6

Wash garments separately WITH a little bit of detergent. Dry however the garment requires

STEP 7

You can add studs, buttons or other fabric thingy. Anything!
